Galaxy Note 10 leak reveals all: detailed spec sheet, features, release date, more
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has leaked extensively since the beginning of June and today, with just over two weeks to go until the official announcement takes place, every last detail has appeared online representing the mother of all leaks.
Samsung has important camera upgrades planned
As mentioned countless times before, the standard Galaxy Note 10 model will feature a total of four cameras. One of these is positioned on the front of the flagship while the remaining three are aligned vertically on the rear. The former constitutes a 10-megapixel sensor that supports dual-pixel autofocus technology, an f/2.2 aperture, HDR10+, and 4K video recording at 30fps. The latter, on the other hand, consists of a more complex setup.
Acting as the primary rear camera will be a 12-megapixel sensor that’s fundamentally the same as the Galaxy S10’s offering. But to keep up with the competition, Samsung has reportedly fitted it with a new three-stage variable aperture sensor which switches between f/1.5, f/1.8, and f/2.4 when lighting conditions require it.
Paired with this looks set to be a super-wide-angle shooter complete with a 16-megapixel resolution and f/2.2 aperture. Also present is a 12-megapixel sensor coupled with a new telephoto lens that supports 2x optical zoom and an f/2.1 aperture, something that should allow for noticeably better images – the Galaxy S10’s zoom camera offers an f/2.4 aperture and therefore can’t capture as much light.
All-new front panel design and a more useful S Pen
Accompanying the Galaxy Note 10’s upgraded cameras should also be an updated display. The flagship smartphone will reportedly boast a 6.3-inch Infinity-O display that’ll be marketed as a “Dynamic AMOLED” panel and offer a Full-HD+ (2280 x 1080p) resolution plus a pixel density of 401ppi. The screen itself reportedly supports HDR10+ content and is covered in Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6. Beneath all of this sits an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor much like the one found on the Galaxy S10. The device will also support Samsung’s Always-On display feature.
As you’d expect from any Galaxy Note smartphone, the Note 10 includes the trademark S Pen. The updated stylus supports 4096 different pressure levels and boasts a 0.7mm tip thickness in addition to a latency of under 70 milliseconds. Other features should include Bluetooth, IP68 water and dust resistance, and “Air Action” gestures that’ll allow users to navigate the UI via the S Pen without actually touching the display.
Faster processor, lots of storage, but no microSD support
Moving over to the internal side of things, the US variant will come equipped with either the Snapdragon 855 or the gaming-focused Snapdragon 855 Plus. The European variant, on the other hand, should be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9825.
This new chip is built on the 7-nanometer manufacturing process rather than the 8-nanometer alternative used by the Galaxy S10’s Exynos 9820. It should introduce some noticeable efficiency and performance improvements which will be achieved by employing two of Samsung’s high-end cores clocked at 2.7GHz, two others clocked at 2.4GHz for demanding day-to-day tasks, and four addition ARM-designed cores clocked at 1.4GHz for the slightly simpler tasks. The exact architecture and GPU Samsung plans to use is still unknown, however.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 announcement, release date, pricing
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will go official on August 7th alongside the larger Galaxy Note 10+. Pre-orders for the next-gen flagships are expected to kick off immediately after the event and will precede a release on August 23rd, according to WinFuture.
In Europe, the smartphone is expected to retail at €999 and therefore cost the same as Samsung’s Galaxy S10+. Official US pricing hasn’t yet been revealed but it’ll likely be $999. Regarding colors, the smartphone will be available in black and the silver gradient. A red model is apparently in the works too, although this one will be limited to a handful of markets.
