Microsoft Improves Immersive Reader Across All Platforms

Microsoft is today rolling out a new update to its Immersive Reader product. Immersive Reader is integrated across OneNote, Word, Outlook, as well as Microsoft Edge. As part of today’s update, Microsoft is introducing new features for Immersive Reader for Word Online, OneNote Online, OneNote for Windows 10, OneNote for iPad, Outlook on the Web, and Outlook.com.
Microsoft is teaming up with Tobii Dynavox to bring a new Picture Dictionary capability to Immersive Reader. The feature allows users to see a picture for a word, which is supposed to allow for improved reading and comprehension. Right now, Picture Dictionary only works with English but Microsoft is planning to add support for 13 more languages.
Immersive Reader is also getting updated with support for custom colors. Users can now choose custom colors for nouns, verbs, or adjectives which will be quite useful to users who suffer from colorblindness. Microsoft is making a key change to Immersive Reader today with the ability to automatically sync settings across devices and services, which means all your custom settings and configurations will come with you regardless of where you use the Immersive Reader.
