Microsoft announced today that Groups is starting to rollout via Outlook on Mac, iOS, and Android. Outlook Groups is already available on Windows and the web (as part of Office 365).

“More than 10 million people rely on Groups in Outlook every month to work together and get things done,” the Outlook team noted today. “Groups in Outlook offers huge improvements over traditional distribution lists, with a shared space for group conversations, calendars, files and notebooks, the convenience of self-service membership and much more.”

Once you’re updated to the latest Outlook app, you will see the following Groups-related functionality.

• View your group list.
• Read and reply to group conversations.
• Add group events to your personal calendar.
• View unread messages sent to the group.
• View group details within the group card (Outlook for iOS and Android only).

Additionally, Microsoft notes that it has made improvements to Groups on other platforms as well:

• Give guest access. (Outlook 2016 for Windows only.)
• Invite people to join. (Outlook on the web only.)
• Send email as a group. (Available on both Outlook 2016 for Windows and Outlook on the web.)

And Microsoft has also promised to continue improving Groups and adding new features. Two that it is working on now include the ability to add appointments to a group calendar (Outlook 2016 for Windows) and the ability to easily add Mail Contacts as guests.
